Remaining steadfast

At our last leadership meeting a devotional was read about standing firm (Stand Firm devotional). This piece spoke about how God can use us to change the course of history when we remain steadfast and obedient. Especially during those times of hardship.

A quote from the meeting minutes of that night includes a look at the heart of this ministry and the reason why we are as leadership so committed to following His lead.

Although heavy-hearted at the loss of leadership, we have to remain firm in His work. We are here offering more than a hand out, we are offering the tools to help others find freedom. The hand up that we offer requires relationships; relationship building requires effort. CR isn’t the work that we do but the ministry that we share in service to others. It is important during the good times and the bad that we remain steadfast and available; to remain committed for the example that we set for others. This is God’s ministry that we have accepted and even when the program is low in numbers, the people that we are serving are in need of Him…when bad things happen, we should be grateful for how God will use those struggles to take us up to a new area of life. A step that we may not have taken short of that event happening,”

As this new chapter of life unfolds, remember that hardship isn’t punishment, but a pathway to peace.
